The President of the Sierra Leone National Sports Supporters Union Jeremaiah Lan-Thomas Gabriel could not be seen during vital national assignments as president, especially during Leone Stars’ matches against Guinea-Bissau and Egypt.
Sport authorities, local fans, and media persons have been asking questions about the whereabouts of a man who has always been at the forefront of cheering Leone Stars to enviable victories.
Reports say President Gabriel was among those who masterminded the November 26 attempted coup. An insider told this medium that he was a believer in the claim that President Bio did not win the 2023 presidential elections. “He has been arrested several times by authorities of the ruling SLPP party for fear that he might bring harm to the existence of the government given his support among sport loving people,” one said.
His Water Street neighbours said he has been missing since November 2024.
