The former President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Madam Isha Johansen has broken silence after years in the quiet.
Speaking, she said she has been a victim of ruthless and unabated attacks from among football stakeholders in Sierra Leone for several years.
She noted with dismay that the ongoing conflict in the football realm has hindered the growth and development of football countrywide, consequences of which, she added, have badly impacted the prosperous future of the youths and children.
“In spending our energy fighting and in disunity, we failed to provide them the platform from which to release their potential and live their dreams,” she averred.
It is against this backdrop that she stated that after the 46th Confederation of African Football (CAF) Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, she summoned a closed-door meeting that included Thomas Daddy Brima (current SLFA President) and Mohamed Kallon led by her fellow FIFA Council Members and CAF Exco officers Amaju Pinnick, Mustapha Raj, and others.
She further stated that the resolution of the meeting was endorsed by Rodney Michael in the pursuit of peace and growth in Sierra Leone football.
She underscored her unwavering dedication on good governance and integrity in football.
She concluded by stating that unity in football can foster growth and maintain peace.
