A military officer of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) shot and killed himself on Monday, September 31st, 2024.
The tragic incident allegedly stemmed from the infidelity of his partner.
The furious soldier was seen expressing his frustration in a video that has gone viral. Left with no option, the man pulled the trigger and shot himself in the chest despite persistent pressure from people at the scene to counsel him.
The prevalence of death and gender based violence in relationships are becoming alarming, a reason one Marion Kamara is calling for civic education in relationship and the fundamental human rights.
All efforts to reach the RSLAF proved futile.
