Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Sierra Leone Francis Ben Kelfala announced on Tuesday that they have recovered thirty-four million New Leones from Ecobank.
The money, which will be transferred to the Commission’s recovery account, is an instalment payment to be continued in January until September 2025.
Commissioner Kelfala revealed that Salim Mansaray, Ecobank staffer, was convicted on Friday for fictitiously converting state funds meant for the National Revenue Authority (NRA) to his own personal use.
He added that Salim earlier fled the shores of Sierra Leone to Dubai, where he got bankrupt following the freezing of his bank accounts.
Commissioner Kelfala said the money will be handed over to Government for proper utilization.
