Doctors’ Backlog Fuel Settled

TheDirectorate of Financial Resources at the Ministry of Health has announced the disbursement of fuel to medical doctors for the 3rd quarters of 2024FY to end the crisis on doctors’ fuel backlogs.

The Health Ministry, in a letter dated 30th October, 2024, urged all heads of health facilities in all districts to make a formal request to the office of the Permanent Secretary for the supply of fuel to medical doctors assigned to their facilities for the period July to September 2024.

The request should be accompanied by a list of all eligible doctors assigned to the different facilities.

“Please where there is no doctor for the supply of fuel, kindly include the vehicle life card, valid insurance policy, and posting letter of the doctor” the letter concluded.

Doctors were threatening to take an industrial action should Government fail to clear their fuel backlogs. This led to a multi-partner engagement, giving rise to a final solution.
